James Albright is a published author about all things aviation and a writer for AviationWeek. He is also the webmaster of Code7700.com, a website with a worldwide following that specializes in flight lessons, international procedures, and aviation mishap case studies. He was an Air Force pilot where his assignments included command of a flying squadron in Germany and a tour with the 89th Airlift Wing at Andrews Air Force Base. After 20 years in uniform, he retired as a lieutenant colonel. After another 25 years in business aviation, he recently retired as the chief pilot for a Gulfstream GVII flight department in Bedford, Massachusetts. His logbook includes the T-37, T-38, the Boeing 707 and 747, as well as the Gulfstream III, IV, V, G450, and VII.
