Randy is the staff Manager of Engineering and Operations in ALPA’s Engineering and Air Safety Department. He is responsible for overseeing staff technical support and coordination for ALPA’s involvement in the subject areas of airports, aircraft airworthiness, aircraft operations, ATC and airspace modernization. Randy represents ALPA on the Flight Safety Foundation’s International Advisory Committee, the FAA’s Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee, and the RTCA Advisory Committee. He supports ALPA’s participation in the NextGen Advisory Committee and the Advanced Aviation Advisory Committee.

Randy came to ALPA from Raytheon Air Traffic Systems as the Director of Washington Operations, in support of Raytheon’s contracts with the FAA for air traffic control modernization. Prior to Raytheon, Randy served in Government Affairs at the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) for 13 years.

A licensed Airline Transport Pilot and Certificated Flight Instructor, Randy holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Eastern Mennonite University. Randy and his wife Wenda reside in Frederick, MD.
