A Mexican Lawyer and Airline Pilot with 9,000 flight hours and more than 45 years of experience in aviation, an Air Accident Investigator, and Master of International Business Law with various management studies at Mexican and foreign universities- He currently serves, since March 15, 2024, as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Aviation Safety and Security at Aeroméxico, based in México City, and is also the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Flight Safety Foundation. Previously, he was the Senior Vice President of Corporate Aviation Safety and Security at Korean Air, based in Seoul, South Korea and right before he was the Senior Vice President of Safety and Flight Operations for the International Air Transport Association (IATA) based in Montreal, Canada. Before that, he served twice as General Director of Civil Aviation in México and General Director at Airports and Auxiliary Services (ASA), in charge of the Mexican government’s airport network. He was also the General Director of the México City International Airport and twice elected President of the professional organization of Mexican pilots. He was head of the Mexican delegation in multiple international negotiations on aviation, was vice president of the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission, and at ICAO, he chaired the Group on International Aviation and Climate Change (GIACC), as well as the Second High-Level Safety Conference (HLSC).
