Renato Achoa brings over 33 years of progressive experience in the aviation industry, with a strong track record in Quality and Safety. He holds a degree in Law and an MBA in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, along with numerous certifications in Quality, Safety, and Security.

Renato began his career in 1985 as a Parliamentary Assistant in Brazil's House of Representatives, followed by a role in the Visa Department of the Brazilian Consulate in Los Angeles until 1991. He then transitioned to Varig and its regional affiliate, Rio Sul, where he worked from 1991 to 2012. Over two decades, he advanced to become a Check Pilot and Instructor for multiple aircraft, as well as taking on administrative roles such as Head of Equipment and Flight Standards.

Since 2012, Renato has served as the Director of Quality and Safety, as well as a Captain, at Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras. He is also the company Lead Auditor for the IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit), overseeing the airline’s comprehensive safety management system. Additionally, includes the qualification as an Aircraft Accident Investigator by CENIPA, and has demonstrated leadership in safety through his role as President of the BAST (Brazilian Aviation Safety Team) under ANAC.
