Company Description
About ATR
ATR is the world’s leading regional aircraft manufacturer, offering the best-selling ATR 42 and ATR 72. Our mission is to accelerate sustainable connectivity for people, communities, and businesses, even in the most remote areas. Operating in over 100 countries and flown by nearly 200 airlines, ATR aircraft helped open 160 new routes in 2023, providing access to essential services.
Our aircraft are the most versatile, cost-effective, and lowest-emission regional aircraft in the world. Thanks to the inherent efficiency of turboprop technology, ATR aircraft emit 45% less CO2 compared to similar-sized regional jets. In 2022, ATR pioneered the first-ever commercial flight using 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in both engines, underscoring our commitment to decarbonizing aviation.
Flight Safety: A Core Focus
Safety is at the heart of ATR’s operations.
Our aim is to continuously improve the intrinsic safety of our aircraft family and the environments in which they operate. As an aircraft manufacturer, it is our responsibility to not only deliver a safe product but also to continually strive to improve air transport safety worldwide. ATR is an active member of international flight safety groups. With decades of experience in regional aviation, we work with local authorities, operators, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to lead safety initiatives. Our participation in regulatory working groups and safety forums enables us to proactively address industry challenges and contribute to raising safety standards across the sector.
Additionally, ATR is continuously developing digital tools and predictive maintenance technologies to enhance operational safety. By using real-time data, we can detect potential issues before they become critical, minimizing risks and ensuring smoother, safer operations for airlines.
ATR's flight safety initiatives extend to ongoing research and development. Our collaboration with regulatory authorities ensures continuous improvement in safety protocols, especially for remote and underserved regions.
Maintenance & Support
Our commitment to safety also encompasses aircraft maintenance. ATR’s Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA) provides airlines with 24/7 support, helping to maintain aircraft reliability and ensuring the highest operational standards. The GMA, along with ATR’s industry-leading dispatch reliability, reinforces the safety and dependability of our aircraft across a wide range of operating conditions. Through GMA, operators benefit from streamlined maintenance planning and constant access to ATR’s expertise, reducing the risk of operational disruptions and ensuring continuous safety throughout the aircraft’s lifecycle.
We are also deeply invested in improving the training of both ground and flight crews. ATR’s training centers provide advanced simulators and the latest instructional technologies. Our training programs are continually updated to reflect the latest safety developments and regulatory requirements.
Safety Leadership & Industry Involvement
Our collaborative approach ensures that ATR helps shape the future of aviation safety regulations and standards. By working closely with the industry, ATR contributes to creating a safer, more reliable regional aviation sector.
