Jon is an experienced engineer, having spent time as a Chief Engineer in Civil, Defence, and Naval Marine divisions of Rolls-Royce. Jon has an Honours Degree in Mechanical engineering from Manchester University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
Most of his career has been in Civil Aerospace gas turbine projects including Chief Design Engineer V2500, and Chief Design Engineer Trent 1000 for the Boeing 787. In Rolls-Royce Naval Marine he was Chief Engineer for the MT30, the world’s most powerful marine gas turbine. And in Rolls-Royce Defence he was Chief Engineer for the Joint Strike Fighter F35BLiftSystem.
In Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace has been Chief Engineer for the Trent 900, and has recently led the engineering team to design, develop and certify the Trent 7000 for the A330neo. His current role is Director of Safety & Airworthiness in Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace division. As part of this role he is the EASA Head of Airworthiness for the Rolls-Royce Design Organisation.
He lives in Derby, UK, married with 2 daughters
