Fascinated by airplanes since childhood, Luis Pedro Xavier turned his early passion into a lifelong career in aviation. Born on 1974, he is married and a proud father of two daughters. Outside the cockpit, he is a dedicated Taekwondo practitioner, drawn to the discipline and focus the martial art demands—qualities that also define his professional approach. Today, is an A320F captain at TAP Air Portugal, where he has been flying since 2007. Since 2024, he has also been contributing to the airline’s Flight Safety Department as a Flight Safety Investigator, combining his hands-on operational expertise with a sharp analytical mindset to help improve aviation safety. To strengthen his impact in this area, he completed the “Introduction to Accident and Incident Investigation” course in October 2024 and earned his Initial Trainer Certification in April 2025. His aviation career was built on a solid technical foundation: a degree in Mechanical Engineering (1996), which led him to begin his professional journey at Siemens S.A. Where he spent over a decade as a Project Manager, in Building Automation, developing technical, leadership, and project management skills. With over two decades of experience across engineering and aviation, Luis Pedro is known for his structured and rigorous approach, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent interpersonal skills. He brings a consistent focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement—both in the air and on the ground.
