Dr. Rithi Baruah is the Deputy Director, Global Safety - India & South Asia at The Boeing Company. She is an accomplished aviation safety leader with extensive expertise in Human Factors, Crew Resource Management, Safety Management Systems, and data-driven risk mitigation. In her role with Boeing, she is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with regional aviation safety leaders across airlines, government agencies, ICAO, regulatory authorities, and other industry stakeholders to strengthen aviation safety across the Asia Pacific region. She also plays a key role in Boeing’s Asia Pacific Regional Safety Committee, helping align Boeing’s safety insights with broader regional safety and regulatory trends and advancing interventions and safety enhancements where the need is greatest.

Prior to joining Boeing, Dr. Baruah served as Head of Human Factors and Crew Resource Management at Air India, where she contributed significantly to operational safety by integrating Human Factors and CRM principles with Safety Management Systems and evidence-based risk mitigation strategies. Her experience includes leadership roles across Indian airline operations, including Vistara and Air India, with close collaboration across flight operations, safety, training, and data functions. In recognition of her contributions to aviation safety and Human Factors, she was honored with the Distinguished Scholar Award by the Flight Safety Foundation in 2026.
