For more than 25 years, Gerard van Es has been working with the Dutch National Aerospace Centre NLR as a senior advisor on flight safety and flight operations. During his career he conducted numerous studies looking for the causes of flight accidents and solutions to prevent them. Gerard has been fascinated by the physics of aircraft that operate on wet and contaminated runways. He has managed several flight test campaigns related to this topic.
