The ICAO Asia Pacific Safety Management Seminar is co-hosted by Flight Safety Foundation and supported by over 20 Administrations and Organizations.

The ICAO APAC Safety Management Seminar (ICAO AP-SM Seminar) is an initiative under the ICAO Asia Pacific-Regional Aviation Safety Plan (APAC-RASP).  The Seminar provides a community forum for safety management professionals across the spectrum of industry in the APAC regions.  Civil aviation authorities (CAAs), air navigation service providers (ANSPs) and industry will gather to foster safety partnership and build a stronger and more resilient network of safety practitioners to support the industry’s continuing efforts to maintain or improve safety performance.

This year, building upon the theme “Achieving an Effective SSP/SMS”, we invite safety practitioners from CAAs and industry to exchange experiences in implementing ICAO Annex 19 provisions sustainably, and to collaborate with other regions towards ICAO’s safety goals.  Sharing understanding can enable more effective integration of SSP/SMS and provide opportunities of learning.

This theme also reinforces the message that Safety Culture is more than an enabler but bedrocks of safety management.  While achieving global standards and pursuing safety improvements are vital, people need to be empowered to support continuous operations of SSP/SMS, and drive system maturity and continuous delivery of useful safety outcomes.
