Capt. SONG Zhiyong is the Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), to which he was appointed in June 2022. Before he joined CAAC, Capt. SONG was the Chairman of the Board of China National Aviation Holding Corporations Limited, and the Chairman of the Board of Air China Limited concurrently. From 2006 to 2020, he served successively as Vice President of Air China Limited, Deputy General Manager of China National Aviation Holding Corporations Limited, President of Air China Limited and General Manager of China National Aviation Holding Corporations Limited. Capt. SONG graduated from People's Liberation Army Air Force Harbin Flight Academy majoring in Flight and started his career in civil aviation as a pilot in 1987. From November 2002 to June 2008, he was the Head of the General Fleet of Air China. With the excellent safe record of flying Boeing 737 and Boeing 747, Capt. SONG has been awarded as the CAAC Elite Grade Pilot.
