Captain Roshan Joshi, Director of Technical Affairs, Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) Captain Roshan Joshi serves as the Director of Technical Affairs for the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines, where he leads the Association’s Technical Affairs Department and oversees regional industry engagement across aviation safety, flight operations, engineering and maintenance, security, cabin safety, sustainability, and operational resilience. He brings more than 35 years of airline operational experience, having served as an airline pilot operating both Boeing and Airbus aircraft across international and regional networks. Over the course of his aviation career, he has also held a range of senior management positions spanning flight operations, safety, technical services, aviation security, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, including serving as Senior Vice President of Flight Operations. At AAPA, he works closely with Asia-Pacific airlines, civil aviation authorities, OEMs, MRO organisations, and international bodies including being actively engaged with ICAO Asia Pacific to address emerging operational and safety challenges affecting the region. He regularly facilitates industry collaboration through AAPA’s Technical Committee and specialist working groups, covering areas such as flight safety, engineering reliability, maintenance capacity constraints, human factors, and operational risk management. He has been actively involved in regional initiatives relating to safety management, crisis coordination, GNSS interference, disruptive operational environments, and human performance, with a particular focus on strengthening cross-industry resilience and information sharing within the Asia-Pacific aviation ecosystem. He currently also leads the AAPA CRM Harmonisation Task Force, a multi-stakeholder regional initiative involving regulators, airlines, academia, and industry partners aimed at advancing harmonised approaches to Crew Resource Management (CRM) and human factors integration across the Asia-Pacific region.
