Mr. Manabu Iwamoto serves as Senior Vice President of the Industrial Research Department and Aerospace Office at the Development Bank of Japan, Inc. (DBJ). Since joining DBJ in 2012, he has built a career in the field of aviation and aerospace finance, initially focusing on structuring and executing numerous loan and syndication transactions for both domestic and international airlines, as well as aircraft leasing companies. From 2019, he expanded his expertise to investment and financing for the aircraft manufacturing industry, while also engaging in research and business development activities in innovation-driven sectors within the broader aerospace domain. In 2020, he began playing a leading role in the development of the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry in Japan, spearheading initiatives for social implementation and the creation of a domestic supply chain to support this emerging sector. He is actively involved in policy-making and industry development related to AAM as a committee member and advisor for various councils and working groups organized by national and local governments. He holds a B.A. (Honors) in Economics from McGill University and a Master of International Public Policy from Osaka University.
