Captain Mohd Radzi Mohamad Alias Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Regulatory) Captain Mohd Radzi Mohamad Alias brings over 35 years of aviation experience to his role as Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Regulatory) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM). Appointed to CAAM in October 2025, he oversees the regulatory functions, with a focus on strengthening regulatory compliance, aviation safety and security, industry oversight, and the continued development of Malaysia’s civil aviation sector. Prior to joining CAAM, Captain Mohd Radzi built an extensive career with Malaysia Airlines Berhad, where he held several senior leadership positions, including Director of Flight Operations, Chief Pilot for Flight Safety and Operations Compliance, and Head Examiner for Training. Throughout his career, he led numerous strategic initiatives in flight operations, safety management, regulatory compliance, training, quality assurance and digital transformation. He also played a key role in advancing Evidence-Based Training, strengthening operational safety and audit programmes, and enhancing the airline’s Quality and Safety Management Systems. Captain Mohd Radzi holds an Airline Transport Pilot Licence and has served as an authorised examiner and type-rating instructor for several aircraft types, including the Boeing 737, Boeing 777 and Airbus A330. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of the West of Scotland and has completed various executive leadership and professional development programmes with institutions including the Asia School of Business, MIT Sloan School of Management, Boeing, Airbus, the International Air Transport Association and Cranfield University. His broad operational and regulatory expertise supports CAAM’s commitment to upholding high standards of aviation safety and strengthening Malaysia’s position within the regional and international aviation community.
