Graduated Aeronautical Engineer in 1998 from ISAE, a French Aviation engineering School, Yannick
VANHECKE joined Airbus activities in September 1998 as Design office engineer then taking over the
Ground test group in charge of validating and testing aircraft systems.
He joined Airbus Customer support in 2001 first as flight controls engineer then leading the
flight controls group.
In 2010 he joined the Product Safety Function, first as Product Safety enhancement manager
then executive assistant to the Chief Product Safety officer in charge of Product Safety Board
operation and product safety function transformation.
In September 2013, he was nominated Head of Product Safety Enhancement department
covering product safety enhancement activities, safety governance and safety digitalization.
In July 2018, he was in parallel appointed Head of Airbus Canada Product Safety, in charge of
developing Safety organization, governance, SMS and operations for A220 aircraft (ex
Bombardier Cseries).
Since 1st September 2022, he has been appointed Vice President Accident/Incident
investigation and prevention covering all product related safety activities from accident
investigation (Annex13), product safety enhancement to product safety strategy for incremental
and new development.
