Speaker Bio
I first started in aviation industry as a Ground Operations Assistant at a small aviation school helping in flight coordination and in maintenance work of the airplanes to be able to pay for flying hours. I later enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Aviation and progressed in my academic career, achieving two Master's Degrees and a Doctorate, currently acting as a Professor/Researcher at the Federal University (UnB) in my city.
Later I started my airport career as a Safety/Security and Operations Agent, progressing to ARFF and ARFF, SMS and AVSEC instructor at the largest airport operator in the country at the time. Then I joined the Civil Aviation Agency in 2007 as a Civil Aviation Specialyst. At the Agency I have always worked in two parallel areas: The first is Airport Infrastructure, focusing on SMS, Emergency Response, Airport Operations, ARFF, Planning, Design and Capacity, having carried out countless works on regulatory creation and improvement, airport certification and literally hundreds of oversight actions in most airports with regular flights in the country.
The second line of work is Pilot Proficiency Examiner, where I carry out an average of 80-100 exams per year across the country, summing up approximately 1,000 flight-hours in checks.
Along the way, as provided in my Resume I have been taking place in some ICAO working groups, in addition to having held some management positions in my organization, such as Coordinator of SMS and Risk Oversight and Coordinator of Planning, LoS and Capacity Monitoring of the Brazilian certified airports.
