Michael McDowell has been in the aerospace industry for more than 35 years. During that time, Michael worked for the Boeing company for 10 years where he helped develop the 777 flight control system and implementation of Global Positioning System (GPS). Michael then went to Rockwell Collins, now Collins Aerospace, where he lead the development of the Multi-mode receiver and the first commercial implementation of the Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS), Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) and Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) Category I (CAT I). Michael has served as Lead System Engineer, Technical Project Manager, Program Manager, Value-Stream Lifecycle Manager, Technical Marketing and Sales, and now Director of Strategy for Avionics Systems. In Michael's current role, he hopes to help continue the evolution of avionics and the modernization of the airspace to make aviation more efficient and safe.
