Speaker Bio
As a Business partner safety KLM for In(Flight), Cargo, Security Services, Corporate and IT I now make sure that all the safety products and analyses are dealt with by our SAG’s ( safety action groups and that the follow up is monitored. I initiate discussions on relevant topics and challenge the reponsable parts of business Sept 2022 till now.

As an ISCM Integrated safety and compliance manager for Inflight Services I held the responsibility to initiate, prepare, execute and monitore several safety initiatives and projects. To make the translation from policies to working instructions for 9000 cabin crew in 4 lines of business operational safety and operational security, occupational safety and environmental responsibility. And every two years we had the IOSA and EASA audits and together with other departments within Inflight services we had to make sure that our IOSA certificate was prolonged on behalf of the Inflight department.

I recently introduces a new way of reporting for cabin crew which is more future proof in the sense that the reports are being dealt with by NLP. Since many years I have been member of Expert level group on fatigue for Pilots and cabin crew within KLM where we determine the topic lights that need to be discussed within the pilot department and/or cabin department as well as the union representatives of pilots and/or cabin crew. As a Sector Manager cabin crew with the responsibility for safety I had a team of 13 unit managers with around 3000 members of cabin crew under me and we determined the safety themes that needed to be addressed in the operational environment. From 2010 till 2015 I was vice president of the Dutch KLM works council and the vice president of the European Workscouncil of AFKL(Airfrance-KLM) In an European environment with all European countries represented we had to organize as a board the central themes that needed to be addressed with the AFKL management. In this periode a lot of reorganisations took place to integrate the European offices of both airlines. Nd in the meantime I have been flyng with the KLM cabine crew since 1996 and today do so in the function of senior purser on the 777/787 fleet flying the internal destinations of our network.
