Dr. Punita Masrani is Founder & CEO of V M Medical Centre, Mirra’s Aeromedical Centre in India. Her areas of specialisation are aeromedical certification and guidance on health, wellbeing and safety in aviation, maritime, migration and hospitality industries. She did her masters in Aerospace Medicine at the Institute of Aerospace Medicine in India. She is a designated Aviation Medical Examiner for DGCA India, FAA USA, Transport Canada, EASA, CASA Australia, CAA New Zealand, UAE GCAA, Qatar CAA, South African CAA and CAAF Fiji. She is a certified Medical Review Officer trained in USA and Australia for the purpose of reviewing and verifying drug test results for the workplace. She is a HIMS AME and plays a role in the occupational substance abuse treatment program, that coordinates the identification, treatment, and return to work process for affected aviators. She trained in HFACS at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, USA. She has completed the ICAO USOAP CMA Phase 1 and Phase 2 in PEL. She is a certified OHSMS ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor. Dr. Punita is an Academician of the International Academy of Aviation and Space Medicine and serves on their Scientific Committee. She is a Fellow of Aerospace Medical Association and serves as Vice Chair Asian Region of the Global Liaison and Outreach Committee. She is a Fellow of the Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine and has served as Member of the Executive Committee, and a Fellow of the Aeronautical Society of India and serves on the Executive Committee on the Mumbai Branch. Dr. Punita serves on various ICAO working groups including Medical Provisions Study Group, Mental Health, Medical Certification and Standards, Problematic Use of Psychoactive Substances (PUPS) and CAPSCA. She is a SME in Aviation Medicine and Human Factors for Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau of India. She conducts trainings and seminars for medical examiners, assessors, pilots and air traffic controllers. She is a panel physician for International SOS and British Airways. In her free time, she loves to read and meditate.
