Steve Berry is the Vice President of Safety and Education for the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), where he leads the vision and direction of the Association’s Safety 1st programs, including the Safety 1st Training Center and Safety 1st onSITE. With more than 20 years in general aviation, Steve has been a champion for advancing ground handling and fuel safety through training, industry partnerships, and a shared commitment to safety culture.

He represents NATA and its members across a range of standards and safety committees,
including the Energy Institute Aviation Committee, ATA 103 Working Group, and NFPA 407 and 418 Technical Committees. Before joining NATA, Steve worked in the quality control division of Titan Aviation Fuels, supporting a nationwide network of Fixed Base Operators in strengthening HSSE programs focused on fuel quality, operational safety, and environmental compliance. A graduate of Indian River State College, Steve began his aviation career as a line service technician and remains dedicated to fostering operational excellence and continuous learning across the industry.
