IASS 2025 THEME COMING SOON

Flight Safety Foundation invites you to submit your speaker presentation and be a part of shaping the future of aviation safety and sustainability at our upcoming event!  Your ideas will help us select the most relevant and impactful presentations for our industry-leading summit. Let's collaborate to drive innovation and excellence in aviation safety together!

🛈 Presentation submission deadline:  April 21, 2025

Possible Presentation Topics

Health and Wellbeing

  • Awareness of issues related to well-being, peer support programs, fatigue risk management, workforce development, and positive culture.
  • Addressing the health and well-being of personnel in all occupations in aviation from pilots and air traffic controllers to ground handlers, flight attendants, dispatchers, and engineers.

Technological Innovation and Human Factors

  • Using fundamental safety tools in an effective manner; technological innovation on many fronts, including managing crew tasks during smoke in the cockpit events; advanced computing; data-driven safety and cooperative learning at multiple levels; collecting intelligence in safety data and actionable information; best methods for use of many forms of artificial intelligence.
  • Human factors in complex systems, which may include building effective checklists among other tasks.

Change Management and Adjusting to Changing Operational Realities

  • Risk management through change with appropriate system assessments and appropriate steps in the implementation of organizational and process changes.
  • Balancing innovation with operational performance improvements; appropriate leadership responsibilities through cultural and generational changes; proactive and predictive risk management; and workforce development in a changing environment.

Climate and Environmental Changes

  • Weather and turbulence related safety measures including new forms of detection and communicating the threats to passengers and crew.

Persistent Safety Issues

  • Anything related to lessons learned regarding the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) high risk safety categories – see ICAO 2023-2025 Global Aviation Safety Plan; turbulence and wind shear incident/accident history; issues or lessons learned from ground-related incidents/accidents, including events involving aircraft or between ground equipment and aircraft, or aircraft and wildlife; smoke in the cockpit incident/accident history.

Creating Resilience and Safety Culture

  • Leadership and how it is fundamental to such things as building safety culture and resilience, developing effective safety management systems, and learning from accidents and investigations.

Flight Safety Foundation is seeking to advance safety performance through:

  • Methods of greater collaboration between stakeholders, innovation on expanding safety lessons learned, building more effective global standards, being more prepared for change that brings along inherent safety risks, risk prevention through cybersecurity and intentional acts, and the ongoing safe integration of uncrewed aircraft into the worldwide airspace.
