Following the 2026 Safety Forum on Data and AI for Operational Safety: Opportunities and Responsibilities, this webinar takes a closer look at what happens to people as AI becomes embedded in aviation safety. The Forum highlighted that human expertise may become more important, not less, while also identifying risks related to over-reliance, erosion of expertise, changing roles, workload, trust, and organizational acceptance.

Rather than another discussion of what AI might do to people, the webinar will focus on what actually happens in practice. What can aviation learn from early implementations of AI — and from other safety-critical domains with longer experience? How does AI affect professional judgment, autonomy, expertise, skills, resilient performance, and the way work is actually done? How should these effects be observed and measured over time?

The discussion will explore how organizations can introduce AI with people rather than to them, while learning continuously, whether it is strengthening human capability and safety – or gradually eroding them.
