Today Captain Bennet Walsh leads the Korean Air enterprise Safety, Quality, and Compliance Professionals. He has had several aviation safety leadership roles previously. Most recently as the Chief Safety Officer for Hawaiian Airlines where he led Safety, Security, and Compliance as the FAA Part 119 Safety Postholder. During this time he refreshed Hawaiian’s positive safety culture programs and implemented the just culture Initiative “Safety Kuleana”. Additionally, he was coordinating the safety culture integration for the Hawaiian/Alaska Airlines merger. At the International Business Aviation Council based at ICAO, Bennet led the International Standard for Business Aviation Operators (IS-BAO). The IS-BAO is a similar standard to IOSA but focused on non commercial operators. Bennet led the development of the current Stage 3 cultural assessment that assesses an operators safety culture maturity. Bennet also served as the SVP of Operations and Safety at Jet Edge International managing risk during a period of rapid growth and change as the air carrier tripled fleet size in three years time. As an airline Captain Bennet was a Captain and Check Airman for Northwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines during that merger. He has 7 type ratings and 12,000 flight hours. Bennet continued to support Delta Air Lines as a special projects pilot and Boeing 777 flight instructor until 2019.
